(MD) Thunder Force II

5 years passed since the released of the first episode and after the original version for X68000 published in 1988 a year later Thunder Force II was ported to Megadrive.
This chapter introduced many features which will be used for the following games, starting from the side-view mode : while the first episode was a multi directional shooter with a top down view, in Thunder Force II levels are splitted between “top view stages” like the original and “side view stages” which will be always used for the next games to come.
Other new features introduced were the weapon system, the “Hunter” weapon and the CRAW add-ons, so despite being the less popular among the 3 titles released on Megadrive, it should be well considered due to the many features introduced which became the standard for the series.
