(FC) Rolling Thunder

Namco’s arcade hit released in 1986 which was ported to Famicom in 1989.
A member of a secret espionage unit, codename Albatross, has to infiltrate a secret society set in New York in order to save Leila, who was previously sent there to investigate.
The game is a side scrolling action shooting, the player start with a standard pistol but entering into specific doors can upgrade them or find ammos; during the various levels Albatross can use crates or doors to evade enemies, crates and other obstacles can be also used to take cover from enemies shots.
Despite the international success in arcades, Rolling Thunder was not released in Europe.
