Under Defeat is a vertical shoot’em up developed by G.Rev and originally released for arcades in 2005 while a Dreamcast port was published in 2006.
The player controls an helicopter that can rotate for 360 degrees while flying in a vertical side scrolling with a machine gun as main weapon; the other sub weapons are the classic bombs (3 in stock in the beginning and can be maxed out of 6) and 3 weapon assist called “options”, which provide extra firepower.
Under Defeat was also released in 2011 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with a new hi-res graphics and detailed shadows, a new game mode that supports 16:9 screens and a wider range shoot to take benefit of the larger visual.
City Connection originally announced this port at the beginning of the year for all the systems on the market but today they stated that Under Defeat will be available only for Switch, PlayStation 5 (digital and physical versions) and PlayStation 5 (digital version).
This release will also have a limited edition that includes a fan book and a CD featuring the new original soundtrack made for this version.
Under Defeat will be available from 5 December 2024 only in Japan.
