Umbraclaw is the new 2D side scrolling action game from Inti Creates and Satoru Nishizawa, the director of Blaster Master Zero.
The player controls a dead cat named “Kuon” who traverses the underworld in order to return to the real world where his owner is waiting.
Kuon searches for a way to open the Gate of the Underworld that is connected the real world, and explores the vast underworld while fending off the unique environment and the demons that live there.
As a cat in a hazardous environment, Kuon is weak and dies easily, but thanks to the ability of “Animal Revive” Kuon can be revived up to 9 times.
After reviving, Kuon not only takes the form of the animal but also gets their ability and strength making it easier to progress through the stages.
Umbraclaw is going to be digitally released worldwide for Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox series and PC but in Japan a physical release is planned for Switch and PlayStation 5 alongside a limited edition that includes an art book, the original soundtrack on 2CDs and an acrylic keychain.
