UFO Robot Grendizer is a 3D action game developed by Endroad and published by Microids in the West.
Based on the first half of the anime, the game includes characters, enemies and locations seen in the anime and uses the same music as BGM in order to enhance the sense of immersion.
The player controls Grendizer and engages in battle against the enemies from Vega.
The gameplay progresses in multiple phases, including action parts from a third-person perspective, as well as on-rail shooting stages that can be enjoyed by docking with the Spacer and others in which the player controls Koji Kabuto flying on his TFO spaceship in vertical shoot’em up sequences.
The Japanese versions will have both text and audio in Japanese and English with a Collector’s Edition also planned and includes : the game (1), a 120 pages art book (2), two different pins (3), a rubber key holder (4), the original soundtrack on CD (5) and four different postcards (6).
3goo, the publisher for Japan, has announced the physical release only for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, it’s not clear if this means an exclusive for Sony systems or the Switch version is also planned but the release date is not set yet, as for the West where it is planned for a generic 2024 year.
