TriggerHeart EXELICA is a vertical shoot’em up developed by Warashi and released originally for arcades in 2006 then ported to Dreamcast (in 2007), Xbox 360 (in 2008) and PlayStation 2 (in 2009).
Recently Cosmo Machia, which has already released Shikigami no Shiro II this year, have acquired the rights for the game and in July they started a crowfunding campaign on Makuake to release the game on Switch; the campaign was a success with a total of more than 6 million yen funded when the target was only 3 million yens.
Today the biggest electronic store online sites have been started listing the game which includes the original Arcade Mode, the Arrange Mode with adjusted difficulty, the Training Mode for beginners and a Sound Mode; there is also a Vertical Mode which turns the screen by 180 degrees to match the original arcade mode and an Internet Ranking to fight for the high score considering that TriggerHeart EXELICA is a single player mode and Cosmo Machia stated from the beginning that they were not planning to implement a 2 Player Mode.
TriggerHeart EXELICA will be released on Switch in both digital and retail form on 14 December 2023.
