Switch 2, or whatever it will be called the successor of Switch, could be already in development.
The last survey conducted by GDC regarding the state of the videogames industry showed some particular information because 8% of more than 3000 Switch developers answered that they are currently developing games for a new Nintendo system.
Although the Switch successor has not yet been officially announced by Nintendo, it appears that game developers and other related parties are making steady progress toward its release.
In response to this survey, 250 people responded that they are working on projects aimed at the successor to the Switch.
In addition, when asked about the platform they are interested in, 62% of developers said that they are interested in PC games, followed by 41% for PS5 games and 32% in Switch successor, so considering the new Nintendo console has not been yet announced it’s clear that It’s already attracting a lot of attention.
Lastly, the survey was conducted anonymously, but considering the existence of NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement), it is quite possible that developers took safety measures and avoided giving a clear answer, so the percentage of developers actually working on Switch successor could be even higher.
