Steel Empire package version announced for Switch

Steel Empire Chronicels

Steel Empire is a horizontal shoot’em up developed by Hot-B and published in 1992 on Megadrive.

The game is set in an alternative 19th century with aircrafts, weaponry, power-ups, environments, enemies and bosses are heavily stylized to steampunk elements that gave to Steel Empire a well defined imprint.

Through the following years the game was ported to Gameboy Advance, in 2004, then on Nintendo 3DS in 2014, but only in digital form and lastly in 2018 on PC, with support for 16:9 screens and featuring a high definition graphics.

Now it’s the turn of Switch to receive a port, but this time there will be a compilation that includes not only the Megadrive, Gameboy Advance and PC versions, but also another game, Over Horizon: this game was released in 1991 on Famicom and it’s a horizontal shoot’em up that resembles R-Type series and was directed by Yoshinori Satake, who will be the director of Steel Empire a year later.

Steel Empire Chronicles will be released by Mebius only in Japan and only on Switch with a limited edition also planned which includes the soundtrack of all 4 titles spread across 2 different CDs and an art book.
