SEGA will launch a retro game system?

SEGA + My Arcade new system

My Arcade, the American company specialized in releasing micro arcade cabinets, have announced that they are working in collaboration with SEGA to release a new retro game system.

The company posted a tweet on X (previously Twitter) that at “CES 2025”, which will be held in Las Vegas (USA) from 7 to 10 January 2025, they will unveil a new retro game device featuring some classics games from SEGA such as Golden Axe, Out Run and Street of Rage.

But the image that was attached to the tweet suggests that the cabinet will not include the arcade versions but the Megadrive ones, because while Golden Axe and Out Run were originally released for arcades and then ported to Megadrive, the other titles (Sonic the Hedgehog, Revenge of Shinobi and Street of Rage) were never released for arcades but they were Megadrive exclusives.

The tweet also mentions more upcoming titles and it’s not clear if the micro cabinet will be a standalone system because in the pictures there are two stylized units.

All these questions will be probably answered in a couple of weeks when the CES 2025 will start.
