Today City Connection finally revealed their “X title” announced a couple of years ago and it’s a new game based on Rushing Beat, a series published in the 90’s by Jaleco on Super Famicom.
Rushing Beat X : Return of the Brawl Brothers, this is the complete title, is a side scrolling beat’em up and the story is connected to previous titles, Rushing Beat Ran (Brawl Brothers in the West) and Rushing Beat Shura (The Peace Keepers in the West).
The gameplay has changed to 3D polygon graphics but keeping the side scrolling action like its predecessor; regarding the gameplay, by using normal attacks, throwing techniques and facing powerful enemies, characters stats will increase and so new fighting techniques will become available.
Food can be used to recover character’s energy and through the stages a “Food Wagon” can be found : combine them by cooking in order to get new odds with new effects.
Rushing Beat X is planned to be released in 2024 but platform will be unveiled probably in the next days of Tokyo Game Show 2023.
