Today Superdeluxe has update their homepage dedicated to Tokyo Game Show 2023 and some interesting news could come in the next days when the event starts (from 21 September to 24 September).
Superdeluxe is a Japanese publisher that works in collaboration with Limited Run Games but unlike them they release their product in both limited and normal quantity and the limited version is always exclusive to pre-orders : once the game is released only the normal version is available so pre-ordering their games grants some bonuses like special cardboard boxes (lately a foil banner has been added), a mini book, a trading card and the soundtrack on CD, at cheap price (usually under 40 USD/EUR).
This limited series is called “Superdeluxe Games” and the next releases will be : DoDonPachi Resurrection (pre-order available here), Espgaluda 2 (30 November) and Gimmick Special Edition (7 December) while Untitle Goose Game (14 December) is planned to be released only in normal edition.
But looking at their homepage for the TGS 2023 when the games availabe at the event are listed we can see that other 3 titles appear :
Trip World DX has been already revealed from Limited Run Game and it’s a remake of the original platform game from Success released on Gameboy in 1992, but of course the titles that caught the attention are the next two : Mushihimesama, the vertical shooter from Cave actually has only been ported on PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 in physical form while Radiant Silvergun, Treasure‘s masterpiece, has never been released in physical form outside the original Saturn version in 1998.
Considering that Superdeluxe is a physical retail publisher in Japan, there are high chances that those titles will be the next entries in their Superdeluxe Games series in 2024.
Probably in just a couple of days, after Tokyo Game Show 2023 starts, we will know if this is similar to what happened last year with Happinet (where Radiant Silvergun was playable) or a great news for all shmup lovers.
