The fourth chapter in the Super Famicom series features Goemon and his friends traveling to several planets in order to defeat the evil commander Seppukumaru.
The gameplay returns to the map-based gaming and includes also some minigames. Each character is assigned a different world, with several side-scrolling stages and a couple of towns; each world has a castle stage in which the boss fights consist in minigames.
Ganbare Goemon 4 was released only in Japan.
