The 7th installement of King of Fighters was the last one made by SNK before going bankruptcy and was ported to PlayStation 2 after 2 years to the original arcade release and a couple of months later after Dreamcast port.
The striker system from KoF99 was kept but, new feature for this episode, the assisting character can now cooperate with the playable character to generate powerful combos.
The King of Fighters 2000 was released also in North America alongside KOF 2001 but includes some censorship.
