Even if Ridge Racer on PS1 is a downgrade for the original arcade, on 3 December 1994 in many houses in Japan seemed like the arcade games were directly available at home.
Despite the downgrade (lower resolution and lower framerate), Ridge Racer not only impressed everyone back then but also started showing the great potential behind the new kids on the block that was going to change the videogame industry forever.
