In middle 90s after the professional league started in Japan, football became very popular here and a lot of games were produced.
Konami created two different series, the oldest was was Perfect Eleven which debuted in 1994 on Super Famicom and 2 years later the series arrived on Nintendo 64 with the name changed into Perfect Striker.
Developed by the Osaka branch (KCEO) while the one in Tokyo (KCET) developed Winning Eleven, Perfect Striker was highly appraised for the gameplay, less simulative than Winning Eleven so being able to catch a wider audience (but in the end due to Playstation success, Winning Eleven became the most popular football game in Japan).
Featuring different game modes, all the 16 J-League teams in 1996, up to 4 people in multiplayer, Perfect Striker was released only in Japan.
