Probably the most successful chapter in the series, Puyo Puyo 2 was ported to Megadrive just 9 months after the originale arcade release.
Compile, the developer behind the series, added many features and rules with this chapter : the player now can counter and negate garbage puyos sent by the opponent, two new garbage types were added (Point Puyos and Hard Puyos) and three different modes are available, Single, Double and Endless.
Puyo Puyo 2 was released only in Japan.
