(MD) Golden Axe

1989 was a great year for side scrolling beat’em up : Capcom released Final Fight, Konami released Crime Fighters and SEGA released Golden Axe, which will be ported to Megadrive the following year.
Set in a fantasy world similar to Conan the Barbarian, the story is centered around Death Adder, an evil entity who want to rule the world, so 3 warriors start their journey to defeat him and take the Golden Axe.
Each character has his typical fighting style and magic attack, during the game and before starting a new level some sprites can be kicked out and potions will be released, the more potions the warrios has and the more powerful the magic attack will be.
Acclaimed after the release in arcades, the Megadrive port was very faithful to the original version and adds a level, Duel Mode and a new ending.
