(GB) Galaga & Galaxian

Compilation of two shoot’em up games developed by TOSE and published by Namco in 1995.
Namco’s first shoot’em up titles were released in 1979 (Galaxian) and 1981 (Galaga) and are considered with Space Invaders and Pac-Man the pioneer of the videogames.
The gameplay is a fixed screen vertical shoot’em up where the player has to destroy various waves of enemies, but unlike Space Invaders, there are no barrier to protect the spaceship. In Galaga the Boss Galaga enemies, set on the top of the screen, have a tractor beam that can be used to capture the ship and cost a life, furthermore some enemies can morph into new types with different attack patterns.
