(GB) Donkey Kong Land 2

After doing possible the impossible with the first title, Nintendo and Rare did it again with the second chapter in the series, released in 1996.
As the previous title, the “Land” series is not properly a direct porting from the Super Famicom game, it shares the storyline (Diddy and Dixie’s quest to save Donkey Kong who was kidnapped by Kaptain K. Rool) but the level designs are different.
For some market strategies in Japan the first title was called Super Donkey Kong GB, so only from the second chapter the “Land” name was use but obviously the numbering is different from the western ones.
The game is compatible with the Super Game Boy and adds some different shades of colours and a 16 bit banana border on the edges of the TV.
