(GB) Donkey Kong Land

Super Donkey Kong was a technical miracle on Super Famicom and porting this game to the small Gameboy seemed impossible, but Rare and Nintendo made possible the impossible.
Developed by Rare when its programmers were working on the 16 bit version, the “Land” series is not properly a direct porting from the Super Famicom game, it shares the storyline but the level designs are different; the gameplay it’s almost similar, there are KONG letters to find, animal buddies, bonus rooms, extra lives while only one character appears on the screen due to hardware limitation.
For some market strategies in Japan the game was called Super Donkey Kong GB, it’s compatible with the Super Game Boy and adds some different shades of colours and a 16 bit banana border on the screen edges.
