The puzzle game from Russia, developed by Alexey Pajitnov was released for the first time for consoles on Famicom in 1988.
Piece with different shapes are falling down into a pit, the player can rotate them and the objective is to use pieces to create an horizontal line of blocks; when a line is completed, it disappears and the above blocks will fall down.
With a very simple, but addictive, gameplay Tetris became very popular and probably it’s the most known puzzle game known among videogamers.
Due to license distribution disputes at the time, this version published by Bullet Proof Software was released only in Japan.
