The sequel of SEGA popular rally game was handled this time by AM5 and released for arcades in 1998 while the Dreamcast port was developed by Smilebit and released in early 1999.
This sequel introduced new environment settings for the circuits and an updated version of the Desert track. The classic Lancia Delta HF Integrale and Toyota Celica GT came back and new models were added, from Lancia Stratos HF (represented on the cover of the game) to Mitsubishi, Subaru, Fiat, Peugeot and Renault, while Ford models were included in the Japanese version.
Sega Rally 2 supports the VGA output.
