Show Me Holdings has announced to have obtained a license to release P-47 Aces Kai on exA-Arcadia system, City Connection’s multi-cartridge arcade system.
Originally released for arcade in 1995, P-47 Aces is an horizontal shoot’em up and the sequel of P-47 Thunderbolt (released for arcades then ported to PC Engine); developed by NMK and published by Jaleco, it was the first game in the genre to use the hyper shoot (which was available for the location test held in Tokyo, the final version has a standand bomb system).
Now after almost 30 years the game returns with other 2 versions : P-47 Aces Wide, which supports wide-screen mode and up to four players simultaneously, and P-47 Aces Kai, an arranged mode of the Wide version; other remarkable features are four new aircrafts and additional characters.
The location test will be held in Umeda (Osaka) and Atsugi (Kanagawa) from 21 to 27 July 2022 while the release date is actually planned for September.
It’s not confirmend that P-47 Aces will be ported to console but among the games available on exA-Arcadia system there ware Psyvariar Delta, Battle Princess Madelyn and Cotton Rock’n’Roll which were already ported to Switch and PlayStation 4.
