Otogi Katsugeki Mameda no Bakeru new info from Bandai Namco

Mameda no Bakeru

Otogi Katsugeki Mameda no Bakeru is a new game developed by Good-Feel and published by Bandai Namco.

It’s a 3D action game where the player controls Bakeru, a tanuki (typical Japanese racoon) disguised as human that uses taiko (typical Japanese drumming) actions to defeat a festival army wreaking havoc throughout in a fantasy world that resembles Japan.

Bandai Namco has presented a video the introduces the gameplay : there are a total of 47 stages, one for each prefecture of Japan, and while some are played in a classic 3D action, there are others based on racing courses and even on-rail shooting, making the game very varied in terms of gameplay.

The art style also is deeply based on Japanese folklore, traditions like summer festivals (matsuri) and resembles Konami’s Goemon series in many aspects, probably due to the fact that several Good-Feel employees in the past worked on it.

Otogi Katsugeki Mameda no Bakeru is going to be released on 30 November 2023 only in Japan and only on Switch.
