Despite being released more than one year and a half ago, due to the chip shortages the PlayStation 5 is still not available in Japanese stores so the only way to get the last Sony console is to partecipate to various lotteries.
Here are the last news from various stores around the country :
Don Quijote
The discount store has a lottery with a deadline set for 24 July. To apply it is necessary to use the store app and the winners can get the console only in the stores designated by the app; the winning notifications are sent by email on 10 August and the reservation purchase will be available until 14 August.
Yamada Denki
The application can be made directly from the online store and the deadline is set for today, 21 July. Yamada doesn’t require the winners to go to the shops and the PlayStation 5 are directly sent to winner’s addresses.
Furuhonshijou
This chain-store lottery is made through their official app if you are registered before 18 July, the deadline is set for 31 July and the winners will retire their new PlayStation 5 in the shop during August and September.
Joshin
To join their lottery it is necessary to own the Joshin card and the application is made through the online store. The deadline is set for 22 July but no official date have been communicated yet for reservation purchase.
