Konami in collaboration with WayForward has announced a new game in Contra series.
A complete remake of the original “Contra”, which was released in 1987 for arcades, starring two commandos, Bill Rizer and Lance Bean, who have to defeat a terrorist group that has occupied the Galuga Islands and plans to wipe out humanity.
This version introduces 2 new playable characters, Ariana and Lucia Drake, while some of the features added to this remake include an enhanced weapon system called “Overload System” (which allows special effects like barriers, multiple missiles and a fire barrier), new gameplay mechanics, cooperative multiplayer up to 4 people, new enemies and stages.
Contra Operation Galuga, this is the complete title, is planned to be released in 2024 for Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in digital form, no words at the moment for a physical release.
