M2 info updates on Aleste, Night Striker and Ubusuna

Aleste Branch

M2 held a new year video on 31 December 2024 where they not only provided new info but showed also pictures and videos regarding 3 titles they are currently working on.

Aleste Branch is a new chapter in the Aleste series and according to director Masato Yamanaka the development is complete and now the team is focusing on optimizing the code for the platforms it will be released, but without mentioning in specific where they plan to release the game, even if a Switch version seems 100% sure and also chancehs to see the game on PlayStation 5 or 4 are solid (or even both systems).

Night Striker GEAR is a new entry in the Taito’s rail shooting series and it’s developed internally by M2 themselves.
According to the few screenshots released, the game keeps the original style of the series with a very detailed pixel graphics, but except for these screenshots no more additional info have been released.

Last words are for Ubusuna, a new shoot’em up from Hiroshi Iuchi, ex Treasure member and director of Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga that was announced back in 2014 (not a typo, in 2014).
The video showed only a new song from the game’s soundtrack and nothing else, even if Iuchi confirmed that the game is in active development.
Considering that the last time we heard about Ubusuna was at the end of 2022 when some artworks were showed, after 2 years not a single in-game screenshot has been revealed and so it’s not simple to trust on Iuchi words… let’s see if we have to wait the end of 2025 to hear again about this mysterious game.
