Half Life 3 probably the most awaited sequel ever has been officially announced by Valve.
Gabe Newell, founder and president of Valve proudly announced “First I want to say that this is NOT an April’s Fool because here in the Pacific Coast is still 31 March“.
Then he added “We are proud to announce the long awaited sequel of Half Life 2 in order to celebrate its 20th anniversary (Half Life 2 was in fact released on 16 November 2004, editor note) but at this state I cannot give further information“.
When asked if Half Life 3 will be a Steam exclusive, Newell said “No, actually the game is planned for another system but I can’t actually reveal the name cause it has not been announced yet“. But after showing the news about Nintendo announcing Super Switch a couple of hours ago he added “Well, now I can say that Half Life 3 will be released on Steam of course and the incoming Super Switch“.
Lastly Newell added “Release date? I can’t say anything, people waited 20 years for Half Life announcement, they surely can wait a little more years to see the game“.
He also stated that there will be an Early Access from 16 November 2024, the 20th anniversary of Half Life 2 release, where the Steam community can download the logo of the game while waiting for further information.
