Famitsu has released its videogame sales chart for the week from 8 to 14 April 2024.
This week the top seller game is surely a surprise, Utakata no Uchronia (SWI) sold 11,553 units, a great result for an otome game. The second spot is held again by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (SWI) with 11,247 units sold while the top seller title for 3 weeks in a row occupies the third place, Princess Peach: Showtime! (SWI) sold 10,736 units.
There were not so many releases during the week and except for the above mentioned Utakata no Uchronia, the only other title that debuts in the chart is RPG Maker WITH (SWI) with 1,454 units sold at #27.
Regarding the titles that re-entered the chart, there is also one title but what a title, Super Mario Odyssey (SWI) with 2,204 units sold reappears after 6 months, the last time was the week from 18 to 24 September 2023.
In general the sales decline has not stopped and reached the lowest result in the year, only 79,115 units were sold among the top 10 titles, beating the previous result of 83,894 units sold during the second week of March.
Hardware side, Switch keeps the good momentum while PlayStation 5 is still slowing down: the top seller system was Switch OLED with 58,336 units, PlayStation 5 sold 16,455 units and Switch Lite sold 7,114 units.
The chart continues with Switch with 5,763 units then it’s the turn of PlayStation 5 Digital with 4,486 units. Xbox Series is another system in progress, both Xbox Series X (1,873 units) and Xbox Series S (743 units) raised from the previous week while PlayStation 4 with only 41 units closes the chart.
