Famitsu has released its videogame sales chart for the week from 29 January to 4 February 2024.
A lot of new entries hit the market in the week and the podium is totally new: the top seller is Persona 3 Reload (PS5) with 76,368 units sold, the runner-up is Granblue Fantasy Relink (PS5) with 48,765 units sold and the third place was grabbed by Persona 3 Reload (PS4) with 40,024 units sold.
The chart continues with other new entries, Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash (SWI) with 25,242 units sold at #4 and Grandblue Fantasy Relink (PS4) with 22,083 units sold at #5.
Other new entries are Jujutsu Kaisen Cursed Clash (PS5) with 4,009 units sold at #19 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League (PS5) with 2,495 units sold at #26.
Combined sales for the top 10 is 288,080 units, down from the previous week (356,093) when Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth and Shiren 6 were released but games like Granblue Fantasy Relink suffered stock problems and the lack of big release for Switch let several evergreen titles to increase their sales like Super Mario Bros Wonder, Mario Kart 8 and Animal Crossing.
It has been a week full of releases for PlayStation 5 but surprisingly hardware sales dropped due also to the end of Spider-Man 2 bundle, PlayStation 5 sold 27,066 units and was overpassed by Switch with 30,419 units sold, a little decrease from the previous week but much more contained than what happened on PS5. All other system are decreasing, PlayStation 5 Digital sold 7,418 units, Switch Lite sold 7,376 units and Switch sold 4,171 units.
The biggest surprise comes from the bottom where Xbox Series S sold 1,613 units and passed Xbox Series X which sold 1,564 units; this result could have been affected by the global success of Palworld which is a Japanese game and it has been available on Game Pass.
