Famitsu has released its videogame sales chart for the week from 25 September to 1 October 2023.
This week a lof of new entries entered the chart : Fate/Samurai Remnant was the top seller with 68,500 units sold between Switch (34,728 and top seller of the week), PlayStation 5 (21,569 and holding the 3rd place in the chart) and PlayStation 4 (12,203 at #9 place) followed by Infinity Strash : Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai with a total of 38,844 units between Switch (24,367 and runner-up in the chart), PlayStation 5 (9,222) and PlayStation 4 (5,255); another multi release of the week was Ys X: Nordics which sold 44,592 copies and the PlayStation 5 version (18,563) was ahead of the Switch version (15,846) and PlayStation 4 (10,183).
The last football game (and the only on the market…) from EA, EA Sports FC 24, globally sold 44,098 copies splitted between Switch (16,485), PlayStation 5 (15,863) and PlayStation 4 (11,750) while among the other minor releases that entered in the chart it’s important the result of DoDonPachi Resurrection which sold 6,985 copies, an extraordinary result for a shoot’em up game, a genre that nowadays is considered as niche.
Due to the good amount of new releases this week the sales have been highly raised compared to the previous weeks : the top ten moved in total 189,681 units while in the previous week the sales were 101,142 units and the chart is more diversified than the usual “nintendomination” caused by the incredible success on Switch.
Hardware side, Switch OLED sales decreased a little probably due to the new “Mario Red” version released this week (6 October) while PlayStation 5 sales are steady and the only changes were Switch selling more than Switch Lite and PlayStation 5 Digital getting back on #5 position over Xbox Series S.
