Famitsu weekly sales 23-29/10/2023

Famitsu has released its videogame sales chart for the week from 23 October to 29 October 2023.

The top seller for this week is still Super Mario Bros. Wonder (SWI) which sold 163,176 units followed by the highest new entry of the week, Metal Gear Solid Master Collection vol.1 with sales split between Switch (19,330 units) at #2 and PlayStation 5 (13,717 units) at #3; the only other new entry of the week is Hana Awase New Moon Complete Set (SWI) with 1,563 units at #21.

Obviously sales have been dropped since the previous week when Mario Wonder and Spider-Man 2 were released but while Mario Wonder is holding well (despite a drop of 75% which is not common for Nintendo titles), Spider-Man 2 surely is suffering from the lack of stock of PlayStation 5 in stores all around the country.
Total sales for the top 10 this week is 243,361 units and more than half of that are from Super Mario Bros. Wonder and the rest of the chart shows very low numbers with the #30 barely over 1000 units.

Hardware side, Switch OLED (53,381 units) is keeping the numbers seen the previous week and the biggest surprise of the chart is Xbox Series X (2,903 units sold) that not only sold more than the previous week but also overpassed PlayStation 5 (2,717 units sold) due to the lack of stock in the shops following the announcement of the new models a couple of weeks ago.
Considering the new PS5 will launch on 10 November, this situation could be replied in the following weeks.
