Famitsu has released its videogame sales chart for the week from 22 to 28 January 2024.
The first big titles hit the market and obviously the podium is changed: the top seller is Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (PS5) with 102,940 units sold followed in 2nd position by Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island (SWI) with 85,424 units sold while the 3rd place has Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (PS4) with 77,134 units sold.
Other new entries are Tekken 8 (PS5) with 20,516 units sold at #5, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy (SWI) with 10,593 units sold at #8, then Touhou Luna Nights (SWI) with 2,235 units sold at #26 and Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy (PS4) with 2,104 units sold at #28.
Cumulative sales for the top 10 titles are 356,093 units, a good result almost reaching the first week of the year; PS5 has 3 titles and all in the top 10, but Switch software sales seems like were not affected cause most of the titles have numbers similar to the previous week; this is a good sign that indicates the market is still reactive.
Hardware side, nothing changes since last week, PlayStation 5 is still the top seller system with 41,188 units followed by Switch OLED with 33,288 units but PS5 sales slightly decreased from the previous week even if some major titles were released and Switch OLED had a little increase. PlayStation 5 Digital also had a little contraction with 8,757 units while Switch Lite (8,991) and Switch (4,156) are in line with the numbers found the previous week. On the bottom of the chart Xbox Series got a good bump selling almost 4,000 units: Xbox Series X sold 2,158 units and Xbox Series S sold 1,747 units.
The hardware chart is closed by Playstation 4 (655) which is near to celebreate its 10th anniversary (22 February).
