Famitsu weekly sales 2022/07/4-10

Japan weekly sales

It’s Friday so as usual Famitsu has published the weekly chart.
The top spots are held by Switch titles, the new Sunbreak expansion for Monster Hunter Rise, which was released the previous week, Nintendo Switch Sports and the evergreen Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

There is only one new entry this week, Bandai Namco’s compilation of both Klonoa titles which barely sold 10,000 units with a 9:1 proportion between Switch and PS4 (which reflects the actual market situation), but both versions had only 50% of the available stock sold and this means there are high chances the retail price will drop in the following weeks.

28 out of 30 titles are from Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 at least had 1 title in the top 10, Gran Turismo 7 which is the real killer application for the system at the moment, with more than 7,000 units sold this week and more than 12,000 PS5 sold, the tie ratio is very high while for PlayStation 4 the only title in the chart is the above mentioned Klonoa compilation.

Hardware side is not different from software one, Nintendo Switch dominates here too, PlayStation 5 holds with the numbers we saw recently while Xbox Series family saw a little reduction probably due to Series X supply constrain.
It’s important to remember that Nintendo Switch OLED version has some stock problems (in fact this week OLED and normal have similar sales), PlayStation 5 is still sold only by lotteries and Xbox Series family is only available on specific online store but they are sold in few hours.
