Earthion is a horizontal shoot’em up actually in development for… Megadrive.
The team behind the game is Ancient with the collaboration of Yuzo Koshiro, a musician that in the past worked on Street of Rage series soundtrack then Y’s series and in the recent years on Etrian Odyssey series.
Originally announced in 2022, the game is a tribute to old school shoot’em ups from 80’s and 90’s and the Megadrive version will include several graphics effects.
Yesterday Yuzo Koshiro has published on X/Twitter the latest news from the game:
– beside the Megadrive version also a Switch and PlayStation 5 versions will be published
– the development is a good point and all stages are almost completed
– the video released (on X/Twitter) shows the second stage
– the Megadrive version will be released on cartridge
– Earthion should be released by the end of this year (but not yet 100% sure)
– the soundtrack will be also released (maybe included in a limited edition?)
