Dreadout 2 is an horror adventure developed by Indonesian studio Digital Happines which was originally released for PC in 2020 then in digital form for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2022.
The game is inspired by classic horror games such as Silent Hill and Fatal Frame and the story takes parts from Indonesian folklore and urban legends.
The player controls Linda Meillinda, a high school student with a special power: she can sense and see ghosts.
Linda with the help of her smartphone will tray to hunt the nightmarish spirits and dark forces that threaten her hometown.
While physical ghosts can be fight by melee weapons and projectiles, by using Linda’s smartphone camera it is possible to hunt intangible ghosts and the more the battle against them becomes difficult the more Linda must keep her nerves.
Dreadout 2 has been released worldwide on eShop in January 2024 but today the game has been announced in physical form for the Japanese market with a release planned for 20 June 2024, multi-languages are also supported (English, Spanish and Russian).
