The next entry in the M2 ShotTriggers is DoDonPachi DaiOuJou, originally released for arcades in 2002 and actually ported only on PlayStation 2 in 2003.
DoDonPachi DaiOuJou is the fourth title in the DonPachi series, the chaining system is similar to the previous games and only 2 ships are available; the new feature introduced in this episode are the Element Dolls, which power up the ship weapons, and the Hyper System, which is activated by filling up the hyper meter at the top of the screen by gaining large combos, attack enemies at close range and collecting bee medals; once the hyper meter is filled, a hyper powerup drops from the bottom of the screen and activating it cancels all bullets currently on the screen and increase the firepower of the player’s ship.
This package will include both the original game and the Black Label, an upgrade with remixed gameplay and will be released only in Japan for Switch and PlayStation 4 on 7 December 2023.
A Limited Edition is also planned and will include :
