Devil May Cry remake announced by Capcom

Devil May Cry remake

Devil May Cry, the action hack’n slash game created by Hideki Kamiya will get a remake after its original release in 2001.

The series has been already reached the fifth episode and even a reboot was made in 2013 (DMC Devil May Cry) but even after more than 20 years the first episode did not receive a remake unlike another famous and popular series from Capcom, Biohazard, which is where Devil May Cry comes.

After Kamiya’s departure from Capcom, the series was directed by Hideaki Itsuno until the last chapter.
Regarding this remake he said “We are happy to announce that after more than 20 years the original Devil May Cry game will be remade with a better graphics and more playable characters; in the beginning we were planning to release this game in 2026 to celebrate DMC’s 20th anniversary but the recent PS2 Pro announcement changed our plans“.

Regarding the state of the development Itsuno said “We already started few months ago and we plan to expand our budget due to the various micro-transactions we added in Dragon’s Dogma 2 (Itsuno is also the director of Dragon’s Dogma series, editor note) so our team is sure that from now the highly criticized micro-transactions inside the game will be seen in a different way and many Steam bad reviews will turn into positive“.

What we can expect from this remake besides the new characters added? Itsuno confirmed that some other new features will be implemented like boss fights with Rathalos, Zinogre and Jagras, some of the most popular enemies from Monster Hunter (Itsuno is also the director of Monster Hunter series).
