Today Famitsu has published an interview with Naoto Tominaga and Hikaru Yasui regarding the next projects for Compile Heart and Idea Factory.
Among the various titles presented, Tominaga has announced that his company is working on a new shoot’em up title in collaboration with M2.
Tominaga said “It’s hard to imagine that Compile Heart is working on a shoot’em up title, but it is real and the development is progressing together with M2“.
Famitsu then asked to Tominaga if this project is a real shoot’em up game that doesn’t involve the typical girls seen in their projects.
Tominaga answered : “Well, the pilot actually is a girl who has the typical characteristics of Compile Heart games; however, the story is a real story fit for a shoot’em up game.
It’s a completely new work and there are some challenging elements that have never been seen before; we are working hard with M2 to ensure that we will not disappoint the expectations of those who want to enjoy a full-fledged shooting experience“.
Finally to the question of when the game is expected to be released, Tominaga said “Actually the plan is to release this game in the late summer of 2024”.
No further information has been given except for 2 artworks, the starship and the female heroine so let’s wait for further news from Compile Heart.
