Clock Tower Rewind set in Japan in October

Clock Tower Rewind

Clock Tower Rewind is an enhanced port of the point and click adventure originally released on Super Famicom in 1995 by Human.

The story is focused on Jennifer Simpson, an orphan who was adopted by the Barrows family along with other orphaned girls. Shortly after she arrives at Barrows’ house, one of the children is killed by a stalker called Scissorman. The player controls Jennifer and has to explore the mansion to find a way to escape while evading the Scissorman; multiple ends are also included and depend on how many girls the player has saved.

Heavily based on some horror movies, Clock Tower was a hit and was praised for the haunting atmosphere and it is considered a pioneer of the survival horror genre (Biohazard would be released the following year while Alone in the Dark was released in 1992 and Sweet Home, the godfather of the survival horror, was released in 1989).

Last year Limited Run Games announced a port of the game that is being developed by WayForward. Among the new features there are a new anime introduction video, a new them song from Mary McGlynn (who also acted voicing in Silent Hill 2 and Tekken) and multiple save states.

While in the West Limited Run Games have not yet announced the release date, in Japan Clock Tower Rewind will be published by Superdeluxe Games for Switch and PlayStation 5 on 31 October; besides the regular edition a Deluxe version will include a 3 sides back case, the original soundtrack on CD, a trading card, a mini magazine, 2 art cards and a set of stickers.
According to the official page on Superdeluxe Games site, Clock Tower Rewind will also support multi-languages (English, French, Italian, German and Spanish).
