Choaniki is a horizontal shoot’em up series that debuted at the beginning of the 90’s on PC Engine while sequels and spin-offs were released on Super Famicom, PlayStation, Saturn, PlayStation 2 with the last official chapter released in 2008 on PlayStation Portable.
In July the publisher Edia opened a crowdfunding campaign on Japanese site Makuake regarding a collection that includes the first two episodes originally released on PC Engine: Choaniki (1992) and Ai Choaniki (1995).
The target of the campaign was 5 million yen and after only 4 days the project was entirely funded and on 18 August it ended at more than 11 million yen.
Today Edia announced a physical version of this collection, alongside the digital release planned for Switch and PC.
Obviously only Switch will have the package version of Choaniki Collection and a limited edition was also announced, it will include the original soundtrack on CD, 3 different pins and a set of 4 square hologram stickers.
