Today Superdeluxe Games have been announced the physical release of Assault Suit Valken, the horizontal shoot’em up published by Masaya in 1992 on Super Famicom.
This is the physical release of the port made by M2 and Rainmaker that was published in digital form in 2023.
This version include previously unreleased content from the original game and a recreation of the guidebook from the time of it’s release; in addition there will be new illustrations by Urushibara Satoshi, the original character designer, unpublished design sketches and a music player that can play not only the original soundtrack but also the re-arranged version.
Gameplay side, now the “Save & Load” function allows players to save the game any time, various screen filters have been added in order to reproduce the feeling of the old CRT television, a super play video that shows how to finish the game and even some old hidden features available on Super Famicom. Last but not least the game is also completely translated into English.
Assault Suit Valken Declassified will be published in physical form only on Nintendo Switch and, at the time this article is written, only in Japan from 27 March 2025.
A Deluxe version is also planned and will include a reversible jacket and the manual (both also included in the regular version), a cardboard box, a trading card, a diorama acrylic stand and the original soundtrack on CD.
