Custom Mech War is a mecha third person shooter developed and published by D3 Publisher.
The game is focused on high mecha customization and allows the player to have hundreds of solutions to create the greatest “war machine”.
The customization is based on different parts : “Key Parts” are the basis of the mecha’s shape and performance and are divided into different sub-parts such as “head” or “legs“; “Attack Parts” are obviously focused of weapons and they are classified by the attack method like “main weapons” or “melee attacks“; “Accessories” are parts that don’t change so much the performance but have a big impact on the aspect side.
These parts can be installed in any position and at any angle as much as they don’t exceed the limit, for example a weight limit set by a specific legs part.
The parameters of the mecha, such as movement speed, boost performance or durability, depend of the parts installed and can be greatly improved by collecting new parts.
There are 3 different sizes for parts, depending on their size and this aspect affects the part itself, for example “S” size parts boost mobility but have low durability, “L” size parts on the opposite have high durability but slow down the mech maneuverability while the “M” size parts are a compromise between the other two.
During the Tokyo Game Show D3 Publisher announced various DLCs like a collaboration with “Earth Defense Force” (one of the most famous games in their catalogue) that allows the player to use parts from “Gigantic Unloader Barga”, a giant mechanized and humanoid vehicle and adds 10 new missions; another DLC adds 70 different camouflage accessories based on the female characters starring in Dream Club, Bullet Girls and Samurai Maiden.
Furthermore pre-ordering the game allows the player to get 3 different exclusive parts and a girl head that resembles the heroine of Samurai Maiden.
D3 Publisher also released a new trailer showing not only the huge amount of mecha customization available in the game but also introduces the DLCs mentioned above.
Custom Mech War is planned to be released worldwide on 17 December 2023 for PlayStation 5 (and PC), watch the trailer below :
