Famitsu has released today the software sales weekly chart regarding the last week which lasted from 25 to 31 July 2022.
With the summer holiday season approaching general sales have been surged and also many new releases made the chart looking like old times when there were 3 or 4 systems actively on the market and not just one and a half like today.
The top spot was hold by Xenoblade 3 which sold more than 110,000 physical units, followed by another new entry, Digimon Survive for Switch, with almost 30,000 units sold; the last spot on the podium was held by the new Switch evergreen title, Nintendo Switch Sports, which sold almost 25,000 units similar to the previous week.
Among the other new entries, 11 in total, a mention should be made for Azure Striker Gunvolt 3, the side scrolling 2D action game from Inti Creates managed to sell almost 10,000 physical units placing it as the best first week in the series; Scarlet Symphony, another side scrolling 2D action game originally published on PC and ported now on Switch which sold more than 7,500 units and the second volume of Psikyo Shooting Gallery for PS4 which sold almost 3,000 units.
Last mentions for Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics for Switch which entered into the million sellers family and Gran Turismo 7 for PS5 which not only re-entered the chart but also managed to reach the top 10.

Hardware side, as said in the introduction, there is an increase for all platforms : Switch models passed from 63,000 to 73,000 units sold, PlayStation 5 family passed from 11,000 to almost 40,000 units sold and same situation occurred for Xbox Series models, which passed from 5,000 to almost most 9,000 (the most due to the fact of larger availability of Xbox Series X).
So in the end Switch despite the release of Xenoblade 3 didn’t have a huge spike in sales but probably Nintendo is stocking units for the upcoming Splatoon 3 which will be published at the beginning of September, while both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series families had a good increase, so it’s likely to expect around the same numbers on the next week and probably for the following one ending on 14 August which corresponds to holidays for a lot of offices and shops all around the country.
