Released in 1992 on the same day of Megadrive version, Sonic 2 introduced a new character, Tails.
But unlike the 16 bit version and due to the hardware limitation, Tails has been kidnapped by Dr.Robotnik and Sonic has to save him.
While the gameplay is similar to the home version, levels design and music are different.
