(NGCD) Samurai Spirits 2

The first weapon based fighting game from SNK was a huge success so the sequel was inevitable; released for arcades and Neo Geo AES in October 1994, a couple of months later was ported to Neo Geo CD.
One of the best example about what a sequel should be : the roster was expanded (6 new characters), new moves were introduced, the control system was made more responsive, duck and roll was added and also a parry technique to block opponent’s attacks which leaves him open to a counterattack.
It’s obvious that all those features made Samurai Spirits even more successful than its predecessor and remained exclusive to Neo Geo systems except for a compilation of both first titles released on PS1 in 1996.
