KoF97 introduced two different play styles, Advanced and Extra.
Advanced was based on KoF96, with the Power Gauge filled by striking the opponent or performing a special move, Extra is based on KoF94 and 95, you can charge the Power Gauge or just defend yourself from opponent’s attacks.
Including 29 characters and 9 teams (2 were new), KoF97 was a big success and contributed to the expansion of the series and it was released only in Japan.
This game requires 1Mb or 4Mb RAM Cartridge to work.
