(SAT) Dead or Alive

Released in 1996 by Tecmo, Dead or Alive is influenced by Virtua Fighter series but introduced some unique features.
Based on SEGA’s Model 2 hardware (the same used for Virtua Fighter 2) has two different kind of “Hold” (the “Guard” in Virtua Fighter), depending on direction from pad can be used for force away or counter-damage the opponent.
The Saturn port was praised for the polished graphics and smooth controls, a Training Mode was added from the original arcade version with a new rendered intro.
