Shikhondo: Youkai Rampage is a vertical shoot’em up from Korean developer DeerFarm.
Originally published in digital form in April 2024 for PC and Switch by CFK, the same Japanese publisher will release a physical version of the game on Switch.
The game is set in an Eastern Asia background and based on mythical creatures from Korean folk legends, includes 6 different stages and various mode that are showed in a video released today by CFK.
There are several gameplay modes, besides the “Arcade mode” allows up to two players to play in cooperative mode, there are the “Boss Rush mode“, the “Novice mode” for beginners and a “Hardcore mode” where a single error means game over, while the new “Dual mode” allows the player to switch between the two characters to maximize the best strategy according to the enemies on the screen. Finally the” Customize mode” allows the player to change various settings.
Shikhondo: Youkai Rampage supports the English language and also the Portrait mode, that allows the game to be played in vertical screen in handheld mode to resemble the original arcade version.
