Today Inti Creates have announced a sequel of their metroidvania game Grim Guardians: Demon’s Purge, originally published in 2023.
Grim Guardians: Servants of the Dark takes the tight action players enjoyed in the previous title and vastly increases the exploration and collection elements, shifting genres completely to a full Metroidvania for an all-new experience.
Servants of the Dark moves the setting from a single demonic castle to the entirety of the demon world. Players will control two demon maids as they explore the underworld: Kirika and her younger sister Masha.
They each have different attacks and abilities, requiring players to switch between the two as they explore each area, upgrade their weapons, defeat demonic bosses, and revive their master, the Demon Lord Maxim.
The game will be published for Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series and PC on 27 March 2025 but in Japan a physical release is planned for both Switch and PlayStation 5 for a month later, 24 April 2025 and a limited edition will be also available, including a setting book, the original soundtrack (CDx2) and an acrylic key-holder.
